Shaykh's Invitation For Summer Tour At The Cambridge Eco Mosque

Take a Summer Stroll at Cambridge's Eco Mosque with Abdal Hakim Murad and Babikir Ahmed Babikir

Last year Green Prophet shared news on Europe's first Eco-Mosque to be built right here in England, Cambridge. This year the mosque is launching a Summer Stroll inviting fundraisers to 'take a spiritual walk' with Muslim scholars, shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and Babikir Ahmed Babikir.

Allah (SWT) said “If my servant comes to Me walking, I come to him running.”

Entries are now open for the Summer Stroll set for 25th June 2011 is here and open to all.

Participants will have the unique opportunity of exploring 9-miles of Cambridgeshire countryside around Wimpole with two of the world’s truly remarkable and influential Muslim scholars.

The Cambridge New Mosque Project continues to engage in community and interfaith building activities.

The new new building will also incorporate a halal cafeteria open to all members of the community; a meeting/conference room for local groups; and a garden of classical Spanish and Indian inspiration to provide a haven of peace for all comers. The project aims to include an element of affordable housing for families as well, which will provide ‘natural surveillance’ for the garden area.

The Summer Stroll is open to all and hopes to raise at least £25,000 to support the Cambridge New Mosque Project.

Each walker who wishes to attend the event is encouraged to raise at least £400 if adult,
- Under 16's - £200
- And families - £600.

Why fundraise for the Cambridge New Mosque Project
The Cambridge Muslim community of more than 7,000 people have by the grace of Allah outgrown their current place of worship. Right now the current mosque cannot cater for their social and spiritual needs.

Once you've registered the organisers will send you an entrant's pack, including a welcome letter, fundraising tips, sponsorship form and your very own T-shirt. Hurray! 

Registering early gives you plenty of time to get sponsors! As we only have a limited number of guaranteed entry places, the earlier you register the better.
