Dear Eco Muslim readers, here is a great message from the organisers behind Climate Week.

There is less than two weeks until the launch of Britain’s biggest climate change campaign, Climate Week. Over 2,300 events have already been registered.

Add your name to the Climate Week Declaration

The Climate Week Declaration calls on the government to do more to encourage action on climate change. Many leading people and organisations have already signed – including Lord Nick Stern, the Aldersgate Group, the TUC and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.

You can add your name by filling out a short form. If nothing else, sign this and pass it forward!
Right now, the government is finalising a new law – the Energy Bill – that will decide the future of Britain’s energy supply. The Declaration calls on the government to put environmental targets into the Energy Bill, to help decarbonise our energy supply and give us cleaner, greener energy.

You can sign the declaration as an individual or an organisation, and it takes just one minute.

Small steps to change the world

Here are some actions you can take to mark Climate Week:
  • Switch to Andrex Eco – a sustainably soft toilet tissue – for only £1.75 in Tesco this week (4 roll pack, subject to availability and while stocks last).
  • Kick Out The Can: have you looked in your garage for that unused paint to take to your local Crown Decorating Centre during Climate Week?
  • If you work in the telecoms sector, suggest to your colleagues that your organisation might go to Shields Environmental for help with reducing costs and ensuring the highest standards of environmental care.
