The Eco Muslim`Eid Card, A Sneak Preview

For Ramadan and the `Eid festival, I have carried forth an annual tradition of hand-making "Eidmas" cards. I own a textile and graphics design business with which I split earnings 3-ways: investment, bills and charity. Although I have little time these days to focus on design, I like to dip in to keep sane. For me, Ramadan season is the opportune time to reconnect in all of life's weak areas - 'imaan, health and creativity.

Last year I 'upcycled' craft materials into new greeting cards instead of buying brand new (published on Green Prophet). This year I am taking it a step further insha'Allah. I shall reuse unused cards, recycle envelopes, use vegetable-based and non-toxic inks, use recycled and handmade paper in place of white printing paper. To stamp the `Eid card with a final environmental touch, I am sending (almost) everyone the first ever eco cartoon with a unique eco-Islam message to keep as a reminder.

It's all very exciting! I feel like I ought to take a pill just to keep balanced. Organic, of course.
