Fair business, fair trade and halal earnings are an integral work ethic in Islamic finance. If you gained more than you worked for - hopefully it wasn't fraud - Allah is blessing you. As Muslims we invest that earning for our future. That way, even our business becomes a means to earn 'ajr (reward) from Allah.

Abu Bakr al-Marrūdhī narrated, “I heard Abu ‘Abdullāh say, ‘I have commanded them - meaning my children - to take turns going to the market and getting involved in business'."

Further, it has been narrated from `A’ishah (ra) from the Prophet ﷺ (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) that he said,
“Indeed the best a man has eaten is from that which he has earned.”

Authentic hadith; Imām Aḥmed, Abu Dāwūd, Ibn Mājah, and al-Tirmidhī.
