Bismillah. This post began in 2022. It's taken me a year to publish it.
We've been married eight years in 2022 (today, nine). I have watched my husband anxiously catch his first flowers blossom in colour.
In our time together he has learnt that simply sprinkling vegetable seeds into soil isn't enough for creating life. While I have learnt that the goal isn't just to enter a Heavenly garden, it's to bathe in the Rahma (mercy) and Noor (light) of Allah.
As much as our marriage is real, hidden and evolving, it is fragrant like a field of jasmine and that's kinda what I wanted to share here with you. Photos of his ever-growing gardening skills. Today: his summer flowers of 2022!
Poppies
Wild poppies which he planted from seeds. Alhamdulillah, a rainbow of dancing flowers has emerged. My organic-now-eco-husband has developed green fingers and holds gardening meetings with my mother (traitor!), talking about natural pest-control and the difference between a perennial and annual plant. I pretend to nod in agreement.
Through trials, experimentation and education, he has created an epic garden for our family which is a Heaven for us. His effort, his eco-jihad, is celebrated around our home.
Alliums
Bees love alliums, wildflowers and 'weeds'. They are an important part of the eco system!
California poppies
Camelias
I think these are called candia tulips but for ages I thought they were freesias. Maybe somebody can help me out?
Gorgeous double lillies - a genetic hybrid which produces double the petals
More poppies
Harlequin flowers
Pretty fresh and new for 2022 - marigolds
