I'm heading out to university again. And while I have what you would call a respectable, albeit tattered, school bag, there's always space for the new-bag feeling. One that emotes "I'm prepared, I can do this, I love stationery." Of course, my uni bag has to comply with green Deen ethics so this is what I've narrowed it down to.

Although the Infinity Green Bag (L 17") by Threadless pictured above is currently out of stock, you can request for a reprint or check out the alternative backpacks in the same Infinity Green design. Made from Cordura and a waterproof vinyl lining.

Sourced Life have created a slick truck tarp bag (L 43cm) made out of all things motoring. A seat belt is upcycled for the strap and bicycle tubing trims the bag's two-pockets interior. Glossy but edgy, this bag has a 'worn' look that adds to its character. *£49.99

This brown Delegate carry bag is made from recycled plastic bottles. Designed by Eastpak-the company who made bags for the US army-the bag has an adjustable strap, a bottom-lined zip to expand the bag and 4 main pockets to carry all your school stuff. *Currently on sale £30.00

Here's a delight for the organised student. An eco-friendly multi-compartment bag from MobileEdge has multiple pockets so you won't lose a thing. And it's wide enough to carry a 17" laptop. Mint! *Introductory price at $49.99/ about £31.20
It looks straight out of a Pixar movie! This Californian Green Leaf Commuter bag (13") from Zazzle is available in a wide range of colours and when fully opened takes on the shape of a uncurling leaf. At £81.40 it is a little pricey for my budget although I'm sure a doting family member can gift a new university student with a life organiser. -grin-

For the day-to-day routine of school, this Schooner sail bag (L 46cm) is perfect. With 6 pockets in total, the bag is cleverly made out of boat sails that have travelled the world. Each bag has its own travel story and origins printed on the inside. Great for gifting the guy who has everything. *£114.78 *ouch!

Taking materials, cost and quality in consideration, I'm leaning towards the organised multi-pocketed bag from MobileEdge.

Here's to green education. Insha-Allah!
