The Only Time Prophet Muhammad Cut Trees

Of all the elected leaders and activists, I believe there are few that have actualised themselves are literal protectors of the earth. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was an individual who also struggled to uphold the principles of conservation and equity in nature. One event though, led to a dangerous threat toward a group of oppressors in order to save a community of believers.


Living in Madinah and facing unyielding resistance from the tribe of Banu Nadir,

"This was when the Prophet decided to cut the tallest palm trees, those that were visible from inside, beyond the fortifications; the palm trees were the city's most valuable resource, and in cutting them down Muhammad was trying to convince the Banu Nadir that if they kept up their resistance, nothing of value would be left in the city. Only that once did Muhammad ever damage trees or another part of nature, whether in war or in peace."

This 'deforestation' was the only time Prophet Muhammad cut down a tree. That in itself is a literal protection of faith.
