Muslims are blessed with grocery stores and local markets which means life in Britain does not require us to grow our own crops - although, if we did, that would be exciting and nurturing. Allah tells Muslims even the food He provided for them is a "trust" that needs to be consumed in (keyword here) moderation.
"It is He Who causes gardens to grow, with trellises and without, and palm trees, and crops of different kinds of food, and olives and pomegranates, similar (in kind) and different (in variety): eat of their fruit in their season, but render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered. But waste not by excess: for Allah does not love the wasters." (Qur'an, 6:141)
Action Plan
1. Don’t waste food. Buy food that you need. Plate less food. Store leftovers for the next day.

4. Go green and save energy - report any abuse of energy too (the government!)
5. Start a compost heap.
6. Donate old clothes and household items to charity.
7. Use technology wisely. If you have a task to do on the computer, do it and don’t waste time surfing and getting distracted by other things [...]
