Yay, our photos from the World Muslim Leadership Forum 2012 are up on their site.

“Thus We have appointed you a middle nation.” (Qur’an, Surah Baqarah, 2:143)
The multi-national event was hosted by British eco-Muslim Dr. Husna Ahmad OBE (who brought us the World Green Hajj Guide) and (). The whole conference was about Muslim "Khalifas" leading their own communities as true ecological and social pioneers.

Here are a few keynote speakers and their thought-provoking action plans.

Television news presenter and women's empowerment speaker. She had a great speech, I hope it's published somewhere, I've forgotten her sweet name!

This year’s theme will be “World Muslim Leaders: The Next Generation” and will focus on Muslim youth leadership with particular reference to democracy and governance, sustainable development and the “middle path” within an Islamic context. ...By engaging with both current and future leaders to discuss and debate issues that affect the younger Muslim generations globally, we hope to find some best practices and solutions, and opportunities for sharing experiences and networking. - WMLF 2012

Speaker from Malaysia - he knew me from GreenProphet.com and wished to give 'salam' to readers. Nice guy ma-sha-Allah.
“…So aim for what is right, follow a middle path, accept the good news of the reward for right action…” - Hadith, Al-Bukhari

I missed this speech (my bad).

Very important figure in South-Asian politics and economics. This gentleman presented an intense powerpoint on the successful Shariah system in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Me. Talking about stuff I like: eco-work, eco-mosques, healthy food, spiritual minds.

Other awesome people I met were:
  • HE. Shaukat Aziz, Former PM of Pakistan
  • Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Jabr Al Thani
  • Mr. Rauf Hakeem, Minister for Law and Judicial Affairs, Government of Sri Lanka, and the leader of Sri Lankan Muslim League.
  • Dato Vijay Eswaran, Chairman of the QI Group
  • Mr. Mirza Sarajkić, Assistant Lecturer of Modern Arabic Lit. and Middle East Studies,
University of Sarajevo. *Mr. Sarajkic is very clever.
  • Gehad El Haddad. Freedom and Justice Party, Egypt
  • Dr Ahmed Al Meraikhi, Director of International Development, Foreign Ministry of Qatar
  • Lauren Booth, Journalist and Activist. *Lauren shared the shocking media tactics with us.
  • Mr. Fachruddin Mangunjaya, National University Indonesia
  • Mr. Jonathan Peccia, Foreign Service Officer at U.S. Department of State, London Embassy
-exhale- Pretty phenomenal, right? So many leaders in one arena, it's like awesome sauce in a jar.
